Event Details:

This special event will take place at the Arizona Boxcar, a piece of living history located in the beautiful McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park.
What is the Merci Train?
After World War II, the people of France were deeply grateful for the generosity and support of the American people. To express their thanks, they filled 49 boxcars with gifts from French citizens and sent them to the United States, one for each state. These boxcars became known as the “Merci Train” (Thank You Train). The Arizona Boxcar, housed at McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park, is a treasured reminder of this heartwarming gesture of friendship.
About the Storyboards:
The Questers, dedicated to historical preservation and education, have created a series of informative and engaging storyboards that tell the story of the Merci Train and its significance in Franco-American relations. These storyboards will be unveiled at the dedication ceremony and will become a permanent exhibit at the park.
